Privacy Policy

Tathir is a prayer times and worship journal app. It is non-commercial: no ads, no tracking, no analytics, and your data is never sold.

What stays on your device

Your prayer journal, qada counters, fasting records, dhikr counts, settings, and location choice are stored only on your device. All prayer times are calculated on the device itself; the app works fully offline.

Location

You can type a city or use your device’s location once to set your coordinates. With your permission, the app may also compare your current position against your saved one to offer a location update when you travel. Your location is never sent to us or to any server. If you use the online city search, only your typed query (never your position) is sent to Open-Meteo‘s free geocoding service.

Optional cloud sync

Only if you sign in with Google, your journal and qada counters are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) under your account so you can restore them on a new device. This is entirely optional; the app is fully functional without it.

Deleting your cloud data and account: open the app → Settings → Cloud sync → Delete cloud data, or follow the steps on our data deletion page.

Optional crash reports

Crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics) is off by default. If you switch it on in Settings → Privacy, anonymous technical crash data (device model, Android version, stack trace) is shared with Firebase to help fix bugs. It never includes your journal, qada, or location. You can turn it off again at any time.

Calendar

Exporting Islamic events writes to a calendar you explicitly choose, only when you tap export. The app never reads your existing calendar entries.

Permissions summary

Notifications (adhan and reminders), exact alarms (prayer-time precision), location (optional, for prayer-time coordinates), calendar write (optional, for event export), display-over-apps (optional, for the prayer lock). Each is requested only for the stated purpose.

This website

tathir.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers. Standard server logs (IP, time, page) may be kept briefly by our hosting provider for security and are not used for anything else.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children.
