Nearly always this is your phone’s battery manager silencing apps in the background (common on Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung and others). In Tathir go to Settings → notifications and run “Test alarm reliability”: close the app and wait one minute. If the test fails, use the battery-optimization and alarm-permission banners at the top of Settings to exempt Tathir, then run the test again.

Tathir recomputes automatically on reboot, timezone change, and app updates. If you traveled far, accept the “update location” banner on the Times page (or set the city manually in Settings). Times always follow the location you set, never a hidden one.

Recited adhan audio needs properly licensed recordings, which we haven’t shipped yet. Notifications currently use your system notification sound. Licensed audio is on the roadmap.

The default (Leva Institute, Qom) suits most Shia users. If your community follows a local mosque timetable, pick the closest method in Settings → calculation and fine-tune with ihtiyat minutes. Elevation correction is available for those who need it, and custom angles can match any marja-endorsed timetable exactly.

Timetables round and add safety margins differently. Add ihtiyat minutes in Settings until the numbers match your mosque. A few minutes of caution is normal.

Yes. Following the common Shia practice of combining, the journal tracks the three daily prayer events while counting all five prayers individually in qada.

If a prayer window ends unmarked, Tathir asks whether you prayed. Nothing is recorded without your answer. Choosing “Add to qada” increases the counter; praying a make-up prayer and tapping the minus decreases it. Bulk entry (months or years) is under the Journal tab, and the payoff planner projects your finish date at a daily pace you choose.

Yes. Journal → History opens a month grid; tap any day to set each prayer. Streaks and stats update instantly.

Completely. It lives on your device unless you turn on cloud backup with your Google account, and you can delete that any time. No ads, no analytics. See the privacy policy.

While a prayer window is open and the prayer unrecorded, the widget’s status line runs teal → gold → red as the window runs out, and stays red after it closes until you record the prayer. Mark it prayed anywhere and the line clears instantly.
